On Monday, April 29, troopers conducted their enforcement detail in school zones in Westchester County.
During the detail, a total of 23 tickets were dished out, 22 of which were speeding.
Earlier this year, troopers handed out a total of 21 traffic tickets during a similar detail in Somers, including six school zone speeding tickets, five drivers were nabbed for not wearing seatbelts, two distracted drivers on cell phones and one arrest for unlawful possession of marijuana.
New York State Police troopers have conducted similar details throughout the year, previously targeting speeding drivers on I-684 in northern Westchester and impaired motorists during Super Bowl Weekend.
